edge edge

It's Jan 7th, 1998 and Candle in the Wind was on the top of the Billboard chart. But Elton wasn't the only one crooning about blowing; in an office in Washington DC Monica Lewinsky is signing an affavit for a lawsuit filed by a sweetiepie named Paula Jones declaring she never had an affair with the POTUS. I watched as she put the pen down knowing she was headed for a shitstorm. Ms. Jones was one of those "rode hard and put up wet" gals who got paid off and had a little work done on her face. Bill Burr would describe her as " 'Lady, get the hell away from me! You're old, you're gross -- I'm sorry. I'm sure you were unbelievable back in the 20s, when you were doing the Charleston, making beer in your bathtub, but you're at least four decades past humpable. I'm sorry." Monica, on the other hand, was young and star struck - on West Wing she'd be played by Debra Winger. You don't hear much about either of them these days. That 15 minute thing, I judge. But I made a pact that day in '98 that my ambition would remain unaltered and fixed on making what we have last forever.
